it does not come with armor. It does not come with a declaration of war. It wraps around you slowly ... so slowly you almost don't notice until the air is already gone.
The serpent is gold. That is not decoration. Gold is what tempts. Gold is what seduces. The things that destroy men rarely look like enemies. They look like escapes. Like relief. Like something earned. Addiction. Comfort. Rage. Grief. The slow erosion of a man who stopped fighting himself and called it peace. The serpent is every single thing that has ever coiled around your chest at 3am and told you that you were finished.
But look at his hands.
Bare. No weapon. No armor. Nothing between him and the thing trying to kill him except the decision not to die. And his position ... study it. The serpent is larger. The serpent looks like it is winning. The coils are tight and the fangs are drawn and everything about this image says the man should be losing.
He is not losing.
He has the dominant position. His grip is on its throat. His feet are planted. His back is straight. He is in the worst of it and he is in control ... not because the fight got easier, but because he refused to let go when everything in him was screaming to.
This shirt is not for the man who has conquered his demons. It is for the man still in the grip of them, hands locked, refusing.
The force will be mastered. It will be mastered because you are still standing here.
